Goals the Last Week of June!

Fred's vacation was last week, and we didn't do nearly as much as I wanted to do. We worked in the yard and cleaned out a shed on Monday, went on a little road trip (less than an hour away) and then to dinner with Josh for Fred's birthday on Tuesday, went on a longer road trip on Wednesday, another little road trip on Thursday, and I honestly do not remember what we did on Friday. We went out to breakfast a lot. We didn't get to go to the coast or the river, didn't spend the night away. I'm kind of sad because it's unlikely he'll get another vacation over the summer.

We didn't even get all the chores done I wanted to get done! I did finish making a slipcover, but that was the extent of it.

This week, lots of writing and editing happening! Hopefully crafting and reading, too!

  1. Write
  2. Finish edits, format book, write blurb
  3. Facebook party with Trish
  4. Legend of Tarzan
  5. Day with Mom
  6. Take out ads
  7. Clean refrigerator
  8. work in yard
  9. finish cleaning the craft room
  10. sew
  11. play guitar—I haven’t played all summer!

I had a pretty productive week, considering I was very social, also! Mom and I went shopping TWICE, once for antiques and plants (didn't get any antiques, got LOTS of plants) and once for fabric. (Hoo, boy. I need to organize my craft room, STAT!) And I went on a winery tour with my teacher pals. OMG, fun. OMG, did I sleep well that night! AND I made a slip cover for my chair so I can have a writing/stitching chair in the sunroom again. I have a BIG mistake on the bottom, so I need to repair that, but my arms are so tired from lifting, pinning, sewing, fitting that it's going to have to wait.

LOTS planned this week. Today's Father's Day, Tuesday is Fred's birthday, I'd like to try to get out to Garner State Park one day, maybe another road trip. And DEFINITELY go see Independence Day!

  1. Celebrate Fred’s birthday
  2. Celebrate Father’s Day
  3. At least two road trips!
  4. Fix slip cover
  5. Write
  6. Take out ads
  7. clean extra bedroom
  8. sew
  9. play guitar
  10. go see Independence Day

I actually got a lot done last week! I cut out two pair of pajama pants, made a pillow, made TWO blackberry cobblers, cooked four nights, went to Fredericksburg with Mom, mowed all the grass and finished my book! I also walked every day, tried yoga and green smoothies, rode my exercise bike and had lots of naps.

Weirdly, I've been ahead on my reading goal all school year, and this week I've fallen behind. I've been reading 2 chapters a day, but not listening to my audio books, so that put me behind.

Yesterday I did something I NEVER do. I went back to bed! I was up early, 5:45 or so, went back to bed about 7, slept until 9, and stayed in bed until 10! It was an overcast morning, so I didn't feel too bad about it. And I had nothing on my to-do list but a wedding.

This week's list is pretty hefty, because Fred goes on vacation next week and I know we'll be running around.

  1. Write
  2. Day with Mom
  3. winery trip with friends
  4. clean middle room
  5. Call for doctor appts
  6. clean windows
  7. Finish cleaning closet
  8. work in yard
  9. make slipcover for my chair
  10. take out ads
  11. Take wedding planner online course for research
  12. sew
  13. play guitar
  14. Go see X-Men?

It's here! I am at once prepared and unprepared, and I don't want to waste a minute!
Last summer I really worked hard on writing and was constantly stressed about deadlines. I'm not going to do that to myself this year. I'm taking time to do crafts and spend time in the yard, which needs a lot of work after all the rain. I'm going to write, of course, but not stress myself about it.

  1. write (finish the book?)
  2. day with mom
  3. update website with Amazon affiliate links
  4. take out ads
  5. take Polka to the vet (for real this time)
  6. clean closet
  7. Work in yard
  8. Clean windows
  9. sew pajama pants
  10. Work on either getting a new chair or recovering the one I have
  11. play guitar
  12. X-Men movie
