Actually had a GREAT first week. Art lessons may kill me on Friday, but I'm working out the best way for myself. Anyone have any cute lessons for PreK and K?

I even managed to get some writing done. And some stitching. I want to sew today. I have a blouse and skirt cut out, not to mention a ton of other projects.

This week
  1. Request rights to Beneath the Surface from Samhain. I'm not in TOO big of a hurry because I'm going to republish it next year when I have a gap in my schedule. I hope I can also buy the cover!
  2. Party with the family
  3. Open House
  4. Write
  5. Work on revisions
  6. Sew blouse
  7. Take out ads
  8. Exercise

Goals the Week the Kids Come Back

Actually I'm excited about tomorrow. My room is ready and beautiful. It was lovely having so many workdays to get ready, especially this year, after moving classrooms. I have more room than I know what to do with. And it's pretty--I can't wait to see the kids' reactions.

I decided I needed to completely revamp my manuscript in progress so I spent some time re-outlining it. I can use a lot, but not all, but that pushes the release back a while. I'm glad I gave myself the flexibility to do that.

Annnnddddd...I opened up the file of the very first book I ever finished and I'm going through that, too. Of course, now that I'm back in school, right?

So this week:

  1. Get used to new schedule
  2. Write
  3. Work on old book
  4. Sew skirt
  5. Take out ads

I can do this!

I'm SO TIRED. We've had 2 workdays so far, Friday and Monday, and my room is almost done. I used to be able to get ready in a day and a half. I was toast by about 11 this morning! But I've had to unpack the closets of the new room, which were packed with kindergarten materials.I painted shelves, organized my instruments. Tomorrow I'll do my bulletin board and put up my rules. I want to organize my games, and I need to find a way to make the room work. It has a mounted SmartBoard, so I'll have to set a table in the middle of the room for my projector. Kind of a pain, because my kids move a lot and that could be dangerous.

Anyway. I'm ready for bed and it isn't even six PM!

This week:
  1. Write
  2. Sew dress
  3. Celebrate my son's girlfriend Lexi’s birthday
  4. Take out ads

Goals the First Week Back to School

So here it is. The first week back to school. We used to have one week of prep, then the kids would come. Then it was one week and 2 days. Now it's almost 2 weeks, thanks to the state legislature, which measures how many minutes the kids attend, but didn't adjust how many days the teachers attend. So 5 days of meetings and 4 days of working in our rooms.

Tomorrow is my last official day of vacation and I have to take the car in to get the tire fixed. Not sure what happened to it, but it keeps giving us an alert, even though Fred fixed it yesterday.

Other than that, here we go:

  1. Get back on schedule
  2. Color hair/fix nails
  3. Go see Star Trek
  4. Write
  5. Sew skirt
