Goals for the Last Week of April

This is how I feel this week, after a crazy but fun birthday week. This time last week, I was getting ready for my birthday party. We went to my brother's house around 2, the party set to start at 3. And after we'd set up, I was standing around talking to my mom when a strange car pulled up in front of the house, but the person who got out wasn't a stranger. It was Trish Milburn, who drove all the way from Florida to celebrate my birthday with me! What a great surprise! She and my brother had planned it.

It was a wonderful birthday, and Trish stayed all week, so we could celebrate Fiesta Wednesday night at Night in Old San Antonio, and my actual birthday on Thursday. We were going to do a mini-road trip, but a line of storms came through that morning, so we went to breakfast at Guenther House, and got wetter than we expected, then went to see Batman V. Superman, then did some shopping.

So I didn't get ANY writing done this week, or any other stuff, honestly. So this week will be catch-up!

  1. work on book
  2. review audiobook
  3. finish up goals for school for next year—no idea what they should be.
  4. Work on cross stitch gift for my SIL
  5. take out ads

Goals for the Week of MY BIRTHDAY!!

What. A. Week. I found out Sunday that instead of teaching all week like I thought, I was only teaching Monday and Friday. Boy Scouts took up Tuesday, and testing took up Wednesday and Thursday, and testing lasted ALL DAY on Wednesday.

THEN, the big hail storm that hit San Antonio? Yeah, it hit us pretty hard. We lost both skylights and the front window. Those hailstones were HUGE! I'm actually surprised it didn't do more damage. The cars are dinged, the garage door is dinged, one of my resin Adirondack chairs has a hail-sized hole in it. My plants....I think I'm most upset about my beautiful begonias that were beat to hell. AND we'd just paid some kids to clean up the leaves in our yard, and guess what? There are oak leaves everywhere, beaten out of the trees.

AND it's raining all week. We haven't gotten more than an automated call from our insurance company! So the skylights are tarped, the front window boarded. We'll get to the leaves when we can.

BUT it's my birthday this week, and Fiesta, so I only have 3 days of school, and one of those is testing (don't ask).

So this week:
  1. Celebrate, at least once :)
  2. Go to Fiesta, at least one parade
  3. work on new book
  4. Take out ads
  5. school paperwork, ugh

Last week was SO LONG! We realized we hadn't had a full week since before Spring Break, and wow, it made a difference. This will be another long one, but next week is short and BUSY!

Also, Eden's Promise is FREE right now on Amazon. Check it out here! (I hope the link works--I had to send out my newsletter three times because it didn't!

This week:
  1. Get used to no more TiVo! We’re a streaming family now!
  2. Plan birthday party.
  3. Work on new book—reach halfway point
  4. Take out ads

We are getting to the part of the school year where I'm starting to think I'm not going to make it. I think I've been spoiled by the interruptions and the holidays. The next two weeks, no interruptions, no holidays. I should be able to see all of my classes. But I'm ready for more interruptions, if that makes sense. It's like a mental break. But only 42 days left in the year. My weekly goal list, which I've made through the end of the semester, is down to one page. Nine more weeks of school.

This week:
  1. Work on new book
  2. proof audiobook
  3. set up new audiobook
  4. color hair
  5. Take out ads
