I survived that CRAZY week--I had FIVE events on Friday. FIVE. Got to school at 6:30, was home long enough to change, then home again at 9:30.

But this week? This is my favorite week of the year, hands down. ALL of summer is ahead of me, no wasted time, nothing but possibilities ahead.

This week:

1) try to get house organized so I can spend my summer enjoying it!
2) Move classroom downstairs
3)Take out ads
4) Work on book??
5) Vet
6) Dye my hair blue!

It's the last full week of school, and it's a wild one! 2 talent shows, 2 graduations, field day and kids vs. teachers kickball game. Oh, and Boy Scouts. I've had my last normal teaching day of the year. AND we can wear jeans the rest of the year, which makes planning outfits easier.

  1. Final touches on Talent Show
  2. 5th grade, PreK and Kinder “graduation”
  3. Field Day, my least favorite day of the year—hot, exhausting, sticky. Ugh.
  4. Work on book
  5. X-Men movie?
  6. Take out ads

Not such a crazy week, thank goodness. But between now and the end of the week, there is going to be a lot of crazy! All I want to do is stay home and get my house ready for summer vacation!
I didn't cook at all last week. I need to be better this week. I'm always best when I have a menu. Fred will have practice one night and I'll have a late evening, but I'll cook the rest of the time.
I'm pretty sure.
I also just found out that eBay has old cross stitch magazines. Fun! Because I need more to do, right?

This week:
  1. School concert
  2. review audiobook
  3. The vet. Not kidding this time.
  4. Early voting
  5. work on book
  6. Austin trip?
  7. The Nice Guys movie?
  8. take out ads

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Last week was CRAZY! The house insurance adjustor came on Monday, so my husband took the day to deal with that. When I got home, we had to go get a copy of the title to the car because the insurance adjustor was coming to look at THAT at school on Tuesday. Tuesday, she came while I was on lunch duty so I was running in and out of school. I asked if she wanted the title and she said, "Only if I total it." I said, "Oh, that's not going to happen."

Guess what?

Every PANEL but one had damage, so they totaled it. I LOVED that car, LOVED LOVED LOVED. I was just stunned. We considered our options--to take the larger amount we were offered, buy a newer car, or take the smaller amount, which was significant, but keep the car, get it fixed and maybe use the extra toward the house. The problem with the second option was that we'd only be able to carry liability on the car. Fred right away started looking at newer models of the same car.

Thursday we had to meet to take the house insurance payment to the bank, then Friday we had to meet again to sign over the car to the insurance company and get the check. Saturday we drove to Austin to get a 2013 model of our car, with less than 20000 miles, and last night we went to see Captain America.

I need another nap just thinking about all of that.

I'd caught up on my writing goals but after this weekend, I'm behind again.

This week is testing three days, but no other crazy interruptions like last week. It was a good teacher appreciation week, but exhausting!

  1. Celebrate Mother’s Day and Mom’s birthday
  2. Testing
  3. work on book
  4. Take out ads
  5. Bathe Polka
  6. Take her to the vet
  7. Find someone to fix the skylights!

This week was much calmer, but I emailed Trish a few times to tell her I wish she was still here! And I still do!

This week we finally have insurance adjustors coming to look at the house and the car. We had a couple of more storms this week. After tomorrow the forecast looks good! Coolish and CLEAR!! I just hope we can find a roofer who's not too busy!

  1. Meet with insurance adjustors, FINALLY
  2. Work on new book
  3. take critters to the vet
  4. Take out ads
  5. Go see Captain America, possibly twice!
