Last week was CRAZY! The house insurance adjustor came on Monday, so my husband took the day to deal with that. When I got home, we had to go get a copy of the title to the car because the insurance adjustor was coming to look at THAT at school on Tuesday. Tuesday, she came while I was on lunch duty so I was running in and out of school. I asked if she wanted the title and she said, "Only if I total it." I said, "Oh, that's not going to happen."
Guess what?
Every PANEL but one had damage, so they totaled it. I LOVED that car, LOVED LOVED LOVED. I was just stunned. We considered our options--to take the larger amount we were offered, buy a newer car, or take the smaller amount, which was significant, but keep the car, get it fixed and maybe use the extra toward the house. The problem with the second option was that we'd only be able to carry liability on the car. Fred right away started looking at newer models of the same car.
Thursday we had to meet to take the house insurance payment to the bank, then Friday we had to meet again to sign over the car to the insurance company and get the check. Saturday we drove to Austin to get a 2013 model of our car, with less than 20000 miles, and last night we went to see Captain America.
I need another nap just thinking about all of that.
I'd caught up on my writing goals but after this weekend, I'm behind again.
This week is testing three days, but no other crazy interruptions like last week. It was a good teacher appreciation week, but exhausting!
